What sold me on the idea of being a serious dividend and income investor years ago was the fact that dividends provide you with another stream of income. That sounds like a no-brainer, since many people start dividend investing with the goal of having dividends cover some or all of their living expenses at some point. Dividends are also one of the main sources of income for people who are members of the FIRE Movement, which are individuals who have the goal of retiring as early as possible. So when people ask me what’s the most attractive thing about dividend investing and why everyone should consider it, it’s because of the additional source of income.
