I’ve avoided the China-focused KLIP fund for two reasons: its notorious NAV erosion, and the bear market in Chinese internet stocks from 2021 to 2024. Now, both factors have dramatically changed course. KLIP recently implemented a new distribution policy to cap monthly payouts at 2% of NAV per month (a 24% annual yield), with the surplus being reinvested back into the fund. We’ll dive into how this change mitigates NAV erosion, and why Chinese internet stocks are showing a resurgence, making this high-yield fund a compelling option for diversification.
