A lot of traders think they have to pick a direction: up or down… calls or puts.
But one of the most powerful things about options is you don’t always need to predict the next big move.
Sometimes your plan isn’t “higher” or “lower.”
Sometimes it’s: “I think this stays in a range.”
That’s what neutral strategies are built for.
A neutral options strategy can benefit when the stock/index:
stays within a range
doesn’t move as much as expected
stays away from certain price levels
You’re not trying to nail the next move — you’re building a trade around boundaries.
Instead of “I need this to go up or down,” a neutral trader says:
“I need this to stay between this level and this level.”
That’s the shift.
